Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw (/ʒɪ̌/ /sɪ̋kæ/ [keen] [thing; stuff; property; matter (substance; material)]) is a subtropical Town located in the Qovuhese Provence of the Kingdom of Hobben.

The name Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw is derived from the Goblin language, as Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw was founded by Shnirlol Shega, who was culturaly Hobgoblin.

Climate

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 30°C (86°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 13°C (55°F). Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw receives an average of 116 cm/y (45 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Overview

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1180, by Shnirlol Shega. The establishment of Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Shnirlol Shega struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw as a prison colony.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw was built using the conventions of Hobgoblin durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw is buildings are built arround a single crampt packed earth mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Right off the bat Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. Precisely how it has gained its wealth is a mystery. Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Yet there are small elements here and there which show the underlying structure of the community. It’s just so complex, organic, and flowing one can only understand what is a piece of the puzzle, but not what its neighbors are.

Civic Infrastructure

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw's citizens locals enjoy many vices and lustful appetites. They may have religious sanction for their deeds, or neighbors might trade with them for such things, or they could be followers of some ideology that blesses such pursuits. Their economy or their social organization is usually heavily reliant on such traffic, and to ensure its continuance they may have made bargains with various mortal and immortal powers.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

Due to the actions of local Kami, summer is short in Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw.

The Gremlin near Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Yeǐ Si̋cä Nêōw's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves performance art to channel Illusion energies of tier 3 via oath swearing.
